We can call something a soap when it is made from natural oils.
Synthetic surfactants detergent cannot be called soap.
That’s why shampoo bars are called “bars”, even though they look like soap.
That’s how I got into making natural liquid soaps.
After making and testing various recipes, I have this recipe that is comfortable to use, good for scalp health, better for environment, and I don’t even need to use conditioners.
Oils (total 1 Kg of oil)
● 300 grams of coconut oil,
● 650 grams of peanut oil
● 50 grams of castor oil.
Lye Solution:
● 235 grams of water
● 235 grams of Potassium Hydroxide,
Additives:
● 60 grams of sugar + 30 grams of fruit syrup (or 90 grams of sugar)
● 540 grams of water
● Essential oils (Lemon, Rosemary, Ylang-ylang)
Soap Cooking Equipment:
● slow cooker,
● blender,
● spatula,
● weight scale
Safety Equipment:
● Face mask,
● gloves,
● long sleeves,
● PH strips
